There are many cost effective marketing strategies that will help grow a small business. According to a forbes.com article by contributor Steve Olenski, companies that post 16 blogs a month have 3 and a half times more web traffic than those who post less than 4. The more you're out there, the more likely it is that more people will know who you are. The article also mentions social media as a very effective tool. Millions and millions of Americans are on social media everyday, and are therefore exposed to these ads daily. Instagram and Snapchat ads are very prevalent and are definitely getting more popular and mainstream. Videos are very important as well to be used in your marketing because it is another means of marketing outside of writing and pictures. Videos on your home page o your site are perfect ways to introduce a company's goals. If a video is made well it will appeal to a large amount of their target audience. It is obvious that technology is a large part of everyday life nowadays. As a result, marketers are taking advantage of this to grow their company.
Other strategies include writing press releases for the public. These releases can include recent achievements the company has made and goals that the company is striving for. If it is a clothing brand for example, they may highlight the success of one of their new men's lines, and may outline their goals for creating a new women's lines in the near future. These press releases should ultimately reassure customers that the company is well and thriving, and should create more interest in their products by introducing new goals and ideas for the future. Small things can go a long way in a competitive market, so things like coupons sent in the mail or via email can make a big difference. Even a 10% off or a 20% off coupon on something could get a needy customer out to the store to buy your product over a competing company's product.
Overall, my passion project has outlined keys for success in the marketing side of business. One must first hone in on what separates their company from others and their strengths and weaknesses. Selecting a target market and understanding changes in the economy are imperative to sustain success. Constant exposure is a must because people become more familiar with brand names if they see them frequently. Those are some of the steps to take to create an effective marketing campaign in a free market economy.
