30's film study "Gone with the wind"

What i found interesting is that the film is in color and not black and white. Another thing that stuck out was the opening credit scene. It was very long and showed support for the south while playing a cheerful song in the background. The music speed up when the girl ran from her father which gave it more dramatic impact.  there is back lighting in order to show power of love and family. When the Ms. O hare talks to Wilkinson she is placed in front of the camera to look bigger and more powerful.  Watching this movie in this time is weird because it talks about marrying your cousin which was a norm back then but really really messed up in this time.

In the film they made the main character looks very innocent  and cheerful. In this post code film there is no swearing or girls speaking up to man like the character from baby face was. There is a praying scene in this film which makes scene because it is a post code movie so it shows good morals that Americans in that time should have. There is no man trying to cat call a girl. Instead its all about marrying a girl which also makes scene because in post code good morals are advertised.
