Citizin Kane Blog post

One scene in Citizen Kane  that i found most meaning full was the last 3ish minutes of the film. The scene started with the reporters in Mr.Kane's "storage room". The report said rose bud meant nothing and it was just one piece of a puzzle no one thing and tell a mans life. The ending of the scene zoom out in order for the audience to see all of Mr. Kanes items. They used A high angle which i thought was used to show that Kane was "watching from his grave". Then they burned all of the "Trash" in the furnace while the camera zooms into a sled that had the words "rose bud" on in it. At the same time music was playing that was dark music. The final warped the film up really well from the place we started from the no trespassing sign.

After watching the movie I feel that Kane progressed in the film and changed. Kane was power hungry and materialistic which was fueled by money. I also feel can became heartless. An example of how Kane was power hungry was the breakfast scene with his first wife the slides progressed giving the audience a feeling of time passing one particular slide that exposes can for being power hungry was when his first wife is talking about the newspaper and he says "The people will think Whatever i Tell them to Think". This juxtaposes Kanes idea to start the newspaper in the first place which was based of the principles of the people. Also in this scene while time progresses the space around them gets filled with more and more material stuff. One example of how he became heartless is when he told  his father "I want to be everything you hate".

I came into citizen Kane thinking i would hate everything about it, but it was not a bad movie. Neither was it the best movie. The plot was some what confusing and the time line was out of place which in my opinion i do not appreciate.
