Capitalism

In the 1960’s the counter culture heavily argued the depravity of government institutions and the way in which our society ran. Though our generation has an entirely different set of moral fallbacks, many are fighting to break free of a depressive economic system. Capitalism was not made to imprison or make life harder, in fact it was made to provide a more open, and intellectual government for the people. Through time major social norms such as gender roles, and the image of how life is suppose to be has programmed citizens of the United States to act and live in a certain way.
When looking at the wealthy we see a material happiness and attachment to what we have, not who we are. School is a place that everyone must go, we filter the information in and out only to forget it all after the big test. We go to college and get a degree, start working, make a family. This was the way it was due to the fact the our society was much smaller and we needed large families to provide for the group. However, now that we are expanding at such a rapid rate and the distribution of money is widely overlooked, all of the labor falls back on those who are less fortunate. This is not meant to say that our society is evil because we have made major strides in the name of human rights. But, we allow institutions, like the government, and the media to supply us with information. There is no more ability to truly explore outside the limits of our society because it has been programmed that way.
To say that the poor are merely lazy, and can climb the social ladder like anyone else is insane. Those living in poverty, in anguish, and fear of their lives do not have the chance to advance in our society because it has become dog eat dog. We have become so selfish that it is deemed unpredictable that we are to help our fellow man. It is all money, money, and more money.

Humanity has lost its purpose, we have learned to believe that we are greater than Earth and its inhabitants. In an attempt to pursue life and its mysteries we have only suppressed our own existence by subscribing to false beliefs .
